1973 Ford Bronco Badass

Information

This 1973 Ford Bronco was refurbished and modified under prior ownership by Badass Broncos of New Braunfels, TX. Work included refinishing the body in white metallic pearl paint, adding Dennis Carpenter flared rear quarter panels, applying LizardSkin and Shield bedliner coatings to the floor and underbody, re-wiring the truck, re-trimming the interior in diamond-stitched brown leather upholstery, and replacing the seals, window regulators, door mechanisms, locks, and hardware. The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 is linked to a 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission and a twin-stick dual-range transfer case. Additional equipment includes an AGR power steering box, BC Broncos steering linkage, a James Duff lift kit, Bilstein shock absorbers, four-wheel disc brakes, manually locking front hubs, and 15″ beadlock-style wheels in addition to Vintage Air climate control, Dakota Digital instrumentation, AMP Research power side steps, LED exterior lights, and a digital stereo wired to Focal speakers and a Kicker subwoofer.

The body tub was fitted with Dennis Carpenter flared rear quarter panels prior to being finished in white metallic pearl paint during the refurbishment. LED headlights and taillights were also installed along with a Kincer Engineering Sport Cage, a black bikini top, fabricated front and rear bumpers, dual side mirrors, AMP Research power-retractable side steps, electric wiper motors, and replacement seals, door mechanisms, locks, and hardware.

Black 15″ beadlock-style wheels are mounted with 35 x 12.5″ Falken Wildpeak M/T tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with a Hydratech hyrdoboost system, a Wilwood master cylinder, and stainless-steel brake lines. Additional equipment includes an AGR power steering box, BC Broncos Heim-joint steering linkage, James Duff 3.5″ suspension lift kit, Deaver leaf springs, and Bilstein shock absorbers with front remote reservoirs.

The cabin houses bolstered front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in diamond-stitched brown leather upholstery that extends to the dash pad, console lid, door panels, and rear trim. A Vintage Air climate control system and billet dashboard vents have been fitted, and a twin-stick transfer-case shifter, three-point seat belts, and a digital stereo wired to Focal speakers and a Kicker subwoofer are also equipped. The floor is coated in spray-on LizardSkin insulation and bedliner material.

The woodgrain-rimmed Forever Sharp steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and fronts a Dakota Digital RTX combination gauge with a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The digital odometer shows 711 miles.

The 5.0-liter Gen 3 Coyote V8 was installed during the refurbishment and is equipped with a Ford Performance Power Pack ECU, a Ron Davis aluminum Radiator, a Vintage Air Monster cooling fan, and a custom air intake system with a conical air filter. Ceramic-coated stainless steel headers feed a MagnaFlow exhaust system.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a six-speed 6R80 automatic transmission, a twin-stick dual-range transfer case, a Dana 44 front axle with Yukon 4.56:1 gears, and a 9″ rear end with 31-spline axles and an iron center section housing an Eaton Truetrac locking differential, also with 4.56:1 gearing. A US Shift Quick 6 stand-alone transmission controller has been fitted.
